Weekend in DC

It had been almost two years since we’d spent a weekend in DC. Signs were genuinely improving with the pandemic, though, we had been cautious and taken reasonable steps to protect ourselves, and we were ready.

I bought tickets to two concerts, one in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater to hear Aoife O’Donovan and the other an NSO concert featuring Bach and Mahler. We had our meals planned, I put the Metro app on our phones, and it was finally time to enjoy DC again.

The building is being restored after being closed for 20 years. It was the first US National Museum when it opened in 1881.
