It was a bit earlier in the season than usual, but we wanted to attend this performance by the NSO because it included the Symphony for Cello and Orchstra, written by Britten, and featured David Hardy on cello. Hardy is the Principal Cellist for the NSO and we have enjoyed hearing him for many years. 

First, we had a great brunch in Foggy Bottom at Circa. When we returned to the Kennedy Center, we toured the recently opened permanent exhibit called Art and Ideals: President John F. Kennedy.

And then it was time for a magnificent concert.
