List
Saturday Market is one of our favorite activities and my favorite part is having lekkerbek for breakfast, a lightly battered and deep-fried whitefish. They are fresh, they are hot, and they are delicious.
The bread is simply wonderful.
Fresh flowers brighten every day.
Off to Brielle.
Vers Van Voorne - lettuce, herbs, chinese cabbage
Lettuce, growing hydroponically.
Bio Kwekerij - tomatoes, peppers, eggplant
Padland - cucumbers
Phalaenova - orchids
This facility ships 8,000 orchids per day, almost 2,000,000 per year.
They show young people how to plant an orchid, tag it, and then grow it until maturity at the greenhouse. The children are able to see and track their plant on-line and can go to the greenhouse and get it, almost two years later.
Bloemenkwekerij - bird of paradise plants
The greenhouses use these balloons to help people spot their location. When it’s time to pull them in, the kids get to help.
Another favorite tradition, the Pannekoekenhuis.
