Having coffee on the balcony.
Our front door
The purple sign is the Next Door Cafe, recommended by our Airbnb host for breakfast. He was right. We ate there twice. Eggs, pancakes, and bacon. Delicious.
On our way to Christiansborg Slot, where the royal family lived prior to Amalienborg. Christiansborg is now the seat of the Parliament, Prime Minister, and the Supreme Court. It is still used by the royal family for the Royal Stables, Royal Reception Rooms, and Palace Chapel.
Chritiansborg Palace
The Queen’s staircase.
The Library
The tapestries were incredible. Note the shoe covers everyone wears to protect the floors.
There are 17 of these tapestries in the Great Hall and they cover over 1000 years of Scandinavian history. The were a gift to the queen on her 50th birthday and were put on display 10 years later, in 2000.
The King’s staircase
The National Museum
The Royal Library, also known as the Black Diamond.
Band playing at a Copenhagen Half-marathon. Almost 22,000 people participated.
Where’s Jen?
The pre-history exhibit in the National Museum was amazing. This is a auroch skeleton from 8.000 years ago. Aurochs are a type of large wild cattle. The last one died in 1627.
Our canal tour. Another perspective of a beautiful city.
Some of the bridges had very tight clearances for the boats and passengers.
The Børsen, or Old Stock Exchange. The spire is the intertwined tails of four dragons leading up to three crowns, representing the unity of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway forming the Scandinavian Empire.
Church of our Savior, with its external staircase that can be climbed for a view of the city.

Den Lille Havfrue (The Little Mermaid). Only 4.1 feet tall, the little mermaid has been vandalized and damaged several times since it was installed in 1913. In spite of her rough life, she remains an iconic symbol of Copenhagen

Entrance to Christiansborg
We had a delicious meal here. We began with wine, had some rosemary bread with olive oil, salami pizza with tomato sauce, cheese, and oregano. Ended the meal with espresso and steamed milk. Then we had dessert. Mine was a chocolate tort with rasberry sorbet and fresh berries with a thin wafer. Jen had lemon meringue/curd with shortbread, vanilla sorbet and thin wafer pieces.
Back at the apartment, relaxing on the balcony.
