Information from the Copenhagen Museum about the clock that was designed and calculated by Jen Olsen:

  • Jens Olsen designed and made the calculations for the clock. He also began the clock’s construction but died before its completion.
  • It is the most accurate mechanical clock in the world and is surpassed in accuracy only by atomic clocks.
  • Has the slowest turning gear in the world which makes one revolution every 25,753 years.
  • Is wound once per week.
  • Has been gilded with four kilos of gold.
  • The clock has 12 movements and 15,448 parts.
