On Wednesday, the kids get out of school early, Dan took the afternoon off from work, and all of us headed to Amsterdam and the Rijksmuseum. The museum had completed a major renovation since we were last there and had a special exhibit of two Rembrandts that have been in private hands since they were created in 1634. The governments of France and The Netherlands jointly purchased the paintings and plan to exhibit them in both countries on an alternating schedule, but they will always be exhibited together. We were fortunate enough to see Marten and Oppjen and much, much more on our trip to Amsterdam.
