Two goals for Sunday; see the little red lighthouse and get to Boston.
The little red lighthouse has been made famous by the well known children’s book “The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge’ by Hildegarde Swift.
We knew the location of the lighthouse. It’s under the George Washington Bridge on the east side of the Hudson River. In fact, it’s in a city park. And that was the problem. New York City parks are not designed for tourists from Maryland to come in and park their cars while enjoying the view. There were hundreds of people enjoying the park. Walking, biking, jogging, running, anything but driving. So after a fruitless search for some means of stopping, we moved on and headed toward Connecticut and the rest of our trip.
