We celebrated Valentine's Day in Philadelphia. We started at the Museum of Art to see a collection of Cornell boxes. These unusual "assemblages" contain mundane objects that become little self-contained worlds when viewed together. They seem to bring up memories and fantasies of tiny, real and imagined universes.
Then we took the shuttle bus to the recently reopened Rodin Museum just down the street. We really enjoyed our visit. There were very few people there and it is not a large place. We had what amounted to a private tour of the museum with one of the docents who taught us more about Rodin than we ever expected. Of course, since it was Valentine's Day, she took our picture next to "The Kiss."
We ended our trip at the Reading Terminal Market for lunch and flowers. Really a fun day.
