The Baltimore Book Festival was held in the Mt. Vernon section of Baltimore, a really fun area filled with restaurants, museums, shops and history. So we went down on Saturday morning, parked really close, and had a great time. We had brunch at Marie Louise Bistro and then wandered around looking at books, listening to authors, touring the Peabody Library and Institute (part of Johns Hopkins University).
We thought we'd head down to the Inner Harbor for dinner, but we ran into what seemed like 40,000 people who were already there for the Orioles game.
So we went on to Chaps Pit Beef and tasted a Baltimore tradition, their pit beef sandwich. The restaurant's been on Drive-ins, Diners, and Dives on the Food Network. It's not a drive-in, not really a diner, but the sandwiches were delicious.
