The sky was filled with clouds in the morning and it was actually a bit cool, but there was the promise of sun and warmer temperatures after lunch. And it happened just as predicted.
It turned out to be a wonderful day of magnificent horses racing over the turf at Fair Hill. This may have been the last year of racing as we have come to expect it. Ground was broken for a major investment by Maryland and others to bring major improvements to the track, the facilities, and the quality of racing. Big changes are on the way.
But that’s next year. This year was a warm day of racing with great food, great friends and family, and the knowledge that there is more to come.
