Fiore Winery and Conowingo Eagles

We wanted to spend the day outside. The sun was shining, the temperature and humidity was perfect, and there were two places we wanted to visit. Fiore Winery is in Harford County near the Pennsylvania border and on the way back we planned to stop at Conowingo to see the eagles, herons, and other birds that have taken up residence in the trees just below the dam.

Both places went beyond our expectations. Fiore is a small winery and we sat on the deck, ate our picnic lunch that Jen had prepared and enjoyed our Vidal Blanc. We also listened to a guitarist/singer whose music was relaxing and very enjoyable.

We left the winery, then, and started our drive to Conowingo and immediately ran into some horrendous traffic due to a serious accident on I95. We finally arrived, though, and were surprised to see many bald eagles, more than either of us anticipated. Quite an extraordinary sight.
