A Performance of Chicago and the National Garden

IMG 3039

We had tickets to see the play Chicago at the Kennedy Center in the evening but the weather promised to be beautiful so we went down early to spend some time outside on the mall. We left the car at the Kennedy Center and took the Metro to Federal Center and walked to the National Garden adjacent to the United States Botanic Garden Conservatory near the Capitol.

The temperature was perfect, the sun was shining, and the garden was beautiful.

After strolling through the garden and the conservatory, we took the Metro back to Foggy Bottom and had dinner at Founding Farmers. It was just a few blocks back to the Kennedy Center shuttle stop so we were back in plenty of time to enjoy dessert on the terrace on the roof with a needed cup of coffee.

We loved seeing Chicago (Brandy performed the role of Roxie). There is something very special about a live performance of a musical with live music that can make the entire evening one to remember.
