Smoking Pork Shoulders

The Grillathon had to be cancelled this year because of some really lousy weather: cold, windy, rainy, and raw.

We decided to have our own day of smoking the pork so we’d have the winter covered so Brian came over very, very early on Columbus Day. He brought his new smoker and we did three shoulders. 

We ate one for dinner that night (it was delicious) and froze two so we’d all have a taste of summer this year when we’re trapped in the house by snow.

It was also just a lot of fun working with Brian on the new techniques used in a real smoker.
