images of our life
The Kennedy Center is presenting an Iberian Suite, a festival featuring the cultural contributions of Spanish and Portuguese artists. We were there specifically to see a performance of Spanish and Brazilian music, conducted by Jesús López-Cobos, including performances by a soprano soloist and a renowned pianist.
While we were there, we enjoyed the other works of art available throughout the building.
It was a terrific evening and we loved seeing all of it.
Oh yes. Just before we entered the concert hall, I went out on the terrace roof take a photo of the frozen Potomac in the sunset. As I stepped out, I could hear and see a helicopter that seemed very close to the Kennedy Center. Then I realized that it was one of the President’s helicopters. I read later that it was carrying the Obamas home from the anniversary ceremony in Selma, Alabama. Fortunately, I managed to remember to take a couple of pictures.
