Bright Star and The Phillips Collection

December became our Art in DC experience this year and we spent our second weekend at the Kennedy Center and a new (to us) art gallery.

Saturday night, we watched and loved “Bright Star”, a new play created by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. The story of love and redemption was by Martin and both Brickell and Martin wrote the music and lyrics.

The Blue Ridge bluegrass music was terrific and after a short run in Washington, the play is going on to Broadway in the spring.

Sunday, we saw a special exhibit called Gauguin to Picasso at The Phillips Collection. It was 75 degrees and we enjoyed our coffee outside on the patio. Great way to spend a December weekend in DC.
